Starmer to Press Allies on Long-Range Missiles for Ukraine at London Conference
Sir Keir Starmer plans to press supporting countries to deliver Ukraine with further long-range missiles to strike enemy locations during discussions in London on Friday.
Britain's leader is set to welcome Ukrainian President the Ukrainian head of state alongside the so-called "alliance of supportive nations", consisting of more than 20 of Ukraine's allies who have committed to grant the Ukrainian government defense assurances once hostilities pause is brokered.
Ukraine's president has been urging for several weeks for additional extended-range systems from allied countries, a step that Russia has cautions would escalate the conflict.
The Ukrainian president is journeying from Brussels, where he held talks with EU leaders on yesterday pursuing funding aid.
"The only person participating in current hostilities who does not want to end the war is President Putin," Sir Keir stated.

Sir Keir will encourage leaders to ramp up the provision of advanced missile technology following an effective attack on a chemical plant in the Russian city, the Russian Federation, using British-supplied advanced weaponry.
"Additionally, his brutal strikes on young children in a daycare this week demonstrate that perfectly obvious," he continued.
Two children were part of no fewer than seven fatally wounded in numerous Moscow's attacks on the country, which targeted a preschool facility in the major urban center Ukraine's second city.
Economic Talks
The Prime Minister will consult Western allies on methods to withdraw Russia's petroleum resources from international trade.
They will also consider employing blocked Russian resources to provide Ukraine with monetary support, while the initiative faced divided opinions and regulatory obstacles at the Brussels summit on the previous day.
European nations stopped short of agreeing to a proposal to employ as much as €140 billion in blocked Moscow funds to financially prop up Kyiv's finances.
Nonetheless, the delegates agreed to assist with Ukraine's "budgetary necessities" for the next two years.
United States also revealed measures on midweek against Moscow's biggest petroleum firms, Rosneft and the private firm, as part of efforts to add financial pressure on Moscow to enter ceasefire negotiations.
Moscow initiated its major offensive of Ukrainian territory in February 2022. Russian troops currently occupies about 20% of Ukraine's soil, comprising the southern region Russia seized in the year 2014.
