Just as Storm Claudia tore through the north-west the previous evening, City swept the visitors away at the their home ground. It was a statement three goal win for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that truly announced their leadership claims as they strengthened their position at the WSL pinnacle.

This result signalled successive WSL losses for the United manager's side for the first time since May 2024, placing them a significant margin off the league leaders with their title hopes in serious doubt.

Team Changes
