The exciting 11-inning clash that saw the Dodgers defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 drew a combined over 50 million watchers in the United States, Canada, and Japanese territories. Major League Baseball stated this marks the highest-rated World Series Game 7 since the 1991 edition showdown featuring the Minnesota Twins and Braves.

Last Saturday’s epic game averaged 27.33M viewers on Fox Sports channels, its Spanish-language channel and their streaming platforms. According to ratings data, it was the second most-watched program of the previous week.

It also is the top-rated Fall Classic game since the 2017 final game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros, which drew 29.07M. This marks a 16% increase over the last finale featuring the Washington Nationals and Astros, which attracted 23.19 million viewers.

In the weekly rankings, Game 6 placed 4th, the fourth game was seventh, the fifth game was 8th, and Game 3 landed in 13th position.

In Canada, the climactic game drew 11.6M watchers on Sportsnet and the French TVA Sports. This made it the highest-rated English broadcast in Canada since the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

In Japan, where the final contest began at 9 p.m. local time, it drew 12M. This followed last Friday’s sixth game – where Fall Classic MVP Yamamoto allowed one run in six innings – averaged 13.1M viewers, making it the most-watched Fall Classic matchup on a single network in Japan.

The entire seven-match series recorded 15.71M viewers on the Fox network, a 2% rise from the previous year’s Dodgers versus Yankees matchup. This marks the initial instance since 2015 and ‘16 that the Fall Classic has seen audience increases for two straight years.

Counting the opening game telecast on the Univision network, the complete US viewership was over 16 million. The overall World Series viewership in Japan was 9.7 million and 8.1M in Canada.

The complete MLB Postseason on Fox, FS1 and FS2 recorded over 8 million watchers, an eight percent rise over last year and Fox’s strongest playoff ratings since the 2017 season.
